
The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association has joined seeks to empower Americans to make healthy choices with Million Hearts™ to offer three online tools to calculate heart attack risk, track and manage heart health, and a tool that shows you what you’re doing right to protect your heart health—and where there’s room for change.
Million Hearts™ is a national initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over five years. Million Hearts™ brings together communities, health systems, nonprofit organizations, federal agencies, and private-sector partners from across the country to fight heart disease and stroke.
Launched in September 2011, the Million Hearts initiative seeks to empower Americans to make healthy choices—such as avoiding tobacco use and reducing the amount of sodium and trans-fats they eat. And improving care for people who need treatment by encouraging a focus on ABCS, that is: A for aspirin for people at risk, B for Blood pressure control, C for cholesterol management and S for smoking cessation.
